Last updated: November 2025

This privacy statement explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use the form to request more information about EcoTraining. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Dutch data protection laws.

We act as the data controller for all personal information collected through this website.

2. What personal data we collect

When you submit a form on our website, we may collect the following personal data:

  • Your first and last name

  • Your email address

  • Your phone number

  • Your message or enquiry details

  • Your preferences (e.g. whether you are a student, job coach, or travel agent)

We may also collect non-identifiable data such as browser type, device, and visit duration through standard analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).

3. Purpose and legal basis for processing

We process your personal data only when necessary and for specific, legitimate purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide information about the EcoTraining course(s) you are interested in

  • To send you requested materials (e.g. brochure or course information)

  • To follow up on your request with relevant details about application or enrolment

  • To improve our website and services through anonymized analytics

The legal basis for processing your data is your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by submitting the form.

4. How long we keep your data

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined above:

  • Enquiry and contact data: retained for up to 12 months after your last communication

  • If you become a student or client: data may be retained as part of your administrative record, in line with legal and contractual obligations. Your data will then, with your consent, be forwarded to EcoTraining, to start the enrollment process.

After this period, your personal information will be securely deleted.

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
Your information may be shared only with:

  • EcoTraining (South Africa) — the course provider, for the purpose of handling your information request or application.

  • Trusted IT or hosting providers — who support our website or email systems, under strict data processing agreements.

All parties comply with GDPR or equivalent data protection standards.

6. International data transfers

Since EcoTraining operates outside the EU (e.g. in South Africa and Botswana), your data may be transferred to a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
We ensure that any such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, to guarantee that your data remains secure.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
This includes secure servers, SSL encryption, limited access rights, and routine data protection reviews.
